Update on our Hermana Coon
Hermana Coon has been transferred to a new area. She is now in Piriapolis, Uruguay. She is training Hermana Harvey an ORO, a brand new missionary, just out of the CCM. Hermana Harvey is from Orem Utah. She is darling. Hermana Coon loves her so much. She love training! She will be training Hermana Harvey for the next 8 weeks! Then she will be released as a missionary and be coming home. I know I am excited beyond words to have my daughter home. But she is going to have a hard time leaving her beloved country of Uruguay. She LOVES being a missionary, she LOVES the people so much! Coming home will be the hardest thing she has ever done! I love my daughter with my whole heart. I am so proud of her.
I had never thought of this, but she is doing her own laundry! She is hanging her clean clothes on a clothes line. WOW!
Piriapolis is like San Diego. The beach is gorgeous! The homes are huge and very beautiful. There is fresh fruit and veggie stands! She had fresh spinach for the first time in her whole mission! She was so happy!
On P-day their zone hike to the top of this mountain. You can see how beautiful Uruguay is. So green! In the distance you can see the city! It is funny to see her in P day clothes...
Looks like a hat day! Protect your skin from the hot, humid sun! Love this pic!
Fresh homemade icecream!
Beautiful, rainy spring morning!
Katie loves her home in Piriapolis. They have a secret garden, a white picket fences and a beautiful garden with corn, grape vines and other stuff.
They made carmel corn with some left over Dulce De Luche and gave it to some members.
Look at that beautiful garden!
Time Out for Woman- phx
Grandma Dayley, Jenny, Lila, Annie and myself went to TOFW conference this weekend. It was great to listen to the speakers, feel the spirit and be together as woman in our family. We stayed Friday night at the Marriott hotel, had a great breakfast and then went to the conference all day. Annie and Lila went to the Time Out for girls and loved being together and laughed at the fun, entertaining speakers. This is now our family tradition.
Veterans Day breakfast at Legacy Traditional

What a wonderful surprise!!!
On Wednesday morning my phone rang. I almost did not answer it, I thought it was a solicitor calling from El Paso TX. I decided to answer it, I heard a cute voice say, "Sister Coon? This is Hermana Flores from the Uruguay mission." I immediately got choked up and couldn't talk! She told me she was going to be in AZ and wanted to come meet us, and she had a gift from our Hermana Coon. I was so taken, I could hardly speak!
So, Friday at 11am she came over. Friday morning I got a call from my parents asking if they could come for lunch and meet Hermana Flores, too. I took the girls out of school, James gets home at 11:30, Grant came home for lunch, plus Grandma and Grandpa Dayley came.
We sat around our kitchen table listening, laughing and crying while Erika Flores told us all about serving with Hermana Coon. Some of their adventures and some spiritual experiences they had. I loved every minute. I sat at the table thinking in 9 weeks we will have our daughter home and we will be sitting around the table laughing, crying and basking in her presence. Being a missionary family is the best! It is such a blessing and a spiritual high every week, reading and writing letters to our missionary. I love the growth Katie has made, she is speaking Spanish fluent, she is testifying of our Savior and his divine role, she is loving the people of Uruguay with her whole heart, she loves her companions and has made life long friendships. Where in the world can you ever find this kind of training for life.... A MISSION!
Katie sent a letter, a Uruguay flag key chain, and some treats from their country.
We Love our Hermana Coon!
