Grandma Dayley's birthday party

A couple weeks before my mom's birthday on November 22, I asked her she would like to have a party. Her face lit up and she smiled,  "Really I have not had a party since my 10th birthday." 60 years since this woman has had a party. WHAT?
So that is what we did, we threw her a 70 year old birthday party. We invited 4 couples, all good friends, plus her 4 married kids and 1 married grand daughter.

We played our version of the Newlywed game. Grant was to host of the games. He is talented and so much fun getting people to laugh and talk about their lives.
The questions asked were:
1. How did you meet?
2. What was your first impression?
3. Tell us about your first kiss?
4. How did he ask you to marry him?
Boy did we laugh and have a good time. These couples had great stories about how they met and their love stories.

My mom loves pumpkin pie. That is all she wanted growing up for her birthday. So that is what we had, pumpkin pie. She is not two years old, even though we only have 2 candles!

What a beauty. I framed this picture and made a cute sign that said,
"This beautiful young women is turn 70"

The truth is my mom looks amazing! It is hard to believe she is 70 years old. After we sang happy birthday we had a mini funeral for her. We all went around a told stories, gave memories and share qualities we love about her. Most said, she is the most giving person. Always bringing over hot homemade bread! She has a soft heart, her emotions are in her eyes. Which is true! Grant Coon told her how much he loved her. His mom died when Katie was 1 and she has been such a great mother to him. His brothers are always jealous of the parties, hot bread, and fun things she does with her grandkids. We love you mom! I hope you had a great time at your second party ever!!!

Time for a change...

Annie asked for a trim and I asked if she wanted to cut it, she said sure! So we gave her a fun, bouncy, cute look! I love this happy girl.

Annie's hair is so cute and thick and healthy at this length. I love it- she loves it too!

Daddy daughter date at the church

Our stake had a daddy daughter activity days dance with Dads.
Grant washed the car so it was shiny and clean to take his girl on a date. She was so excited to be with her dad.

It warms my heart to see this man treat his girls so sweet. He has 3 girls and a huge soft spot in his heart for each of them. Annie and I went to Chandler mall to go shopping... something Hannah has not found enjoyable yet!

Who knew... Hannah loves soccer

A friend at Hannahs school asked if she wanted to play soccer this fall. So we gave it a try... who knew Hannah would love it. After her first game, Coach Tiffany asked how long Hannah has been playing because she has natural talent. I said, "Well, she had an 1hour practice on Thursday and the first game on Saturday." She was amazing at how well Hannah handled the ball while running. She wasn't afraid of the ball or the other team. She just gets right in the middle and comes out with the ball. She has amazed us all. I guess I am now a soccer mom....

Hannah is 8 years old, almost 9 in 2 months! She says she is 9 though.

Halloween 2015

 Annie is a darling Pocahontis
Hannah is a pretty cute 50's girl!
We went to our cousins trunk or treat party on Wednesday night.
Jolynn the cheerleader!

Abby and Annie are both Indian cousins...
Katie and Grant borrowed our "elderly" outfits. They called themselves the
"Oldie weds" instead of "Newlyweds"

The problem is Katie is still so beautiful!!!

Hannah and Gloria the 50's girls...

Fall Break - Disneyland, Knotts Berry Farm, California Adventures

 DAY 1 - Disneyland

Niki, Jolynn, Gloria, Isaac and Richie Coon came to Disneyland with us on Wednesday. Everything is more fun with cousins!
 The Haunted House...
Spooky ghosts

It's a small world...

Annie 13
Hannah 8
Jolynn 11
Gloria 8

Day 2 - Knotts Berry Farm

We met Paul, Carson and Tyler Coon at Knotts Berry Farm. They live in Utah. Knotts Berry Farm has really improved since the last time we were there. It was clean, freshly painted, flowers and trees. I was impressed with the improvements. The crowds were GREAT! Hardly anyone at the park. We did not have to wait in long lines.

I am not a thrill seeker. I did not go on any roller coasters. Which was just fine with me. I went on the swings and got really dizzy. As a teenager I went to Knott's berry farm with the Bunker family. I remember riding this roller coaster... Montezuma's revenge over and over and loving it. But I passed this time.

Friday, Day 3 - California Adventures!

Katie and Grant came to California to be with us. Grant went with his brothers to Buttonwillow CA to race cars around the track. We had a terrific time. Katie and Grant make everything more fun!

Soaring over California!

What a great day to be in California. We thought that fall break, October 8th would give us beautiful California weather. Not the case, the heat followed us from AZ. It was 102 degrees and humid today! It was HOT!

This is the cutest newlywed couple alive!

Katie and Grant brought their awesome new camera and took lots of videos of our day in California adventures! I can't wait for them to finish the video! We had a great time together. Love my family. Miss my son/missionary, missed my honey too.
