Hannah's 10th birthday!

Hannah decided this year she would like to take her cousin Gloria to the American Girl store and restaurant for her 10th birthday! They were so excited all week. Niki said Gloria talked about Hannah's party all week.  Hannah was counting the days down and it was taking a long time to get her. Finally Saturday came, we picked Gloria up at her house and the 3 of us drove to Scottsdale to have an American Girl adventure. We had about an hour to look around the store before our reservation at 2:45 at the restaurant. I got some cute pictures of the girls enjoying all the dolls.

I told the girls they could pick an outfit out for their dolls. They both picked Mary Ellen's cooking outfit! Now their dolls can be twins!

At the restaurant our dolls got to sit up to the table! The girls order everything they wanted off the menu. Shakes, fruit fondue, macaroni and cheese, a hamburger, berry sorbet, & 3 mini cones dipped in sprinkles!  We sat around waiting for our food to come and played a question game that was at the table. One question was: If you could meet anyone living or dead, who would it be? Hannah immediately answered, "Her grandma Coon."  Grandma Coon passed away when Katie was 1 year old. Both Hannah and Gloria love Grandpa Coon~ I thought it was so sweet and tender that Hannah wanted to meet her.

At the end of the day we can say they were happy girls!

Grandma Dayley's surprise to the girls!

Grandma Dayley has been working for so many years to finish these quilts. Finally the day arrived. We had Grandma & Grandpa over for dinner with Katie & Grant so she could give them their quilts. They are all hand quilted and made with lots of love.  She wrote a store about how each quilt came to be made and the story behind them. Made a little pocket on the back of the quilt and slipped the story inside. So they will never forget their Grandma.

Christmas Eve & Christmas morning 2016

 Isaac Coon 7 years old.

 Abby 14, Annie 14, Jolynn 13, and Lila 14

 Hannah 9, Gloria 9

Last year these red high heel boots we given in the gift exchange. I stored them in my closet all year until I could give them away to some lucky person! Annie did not get them this year ~ JoLynn did. Annie was just rocking them during the party!
For Christmas this year I made Grandpa Coon a hard bound book about his life, starting at birth until now. Including pictures of his wife, mother & father, children and grandchildren. It turned out really nice and I think he loved it.

Christmas Eve... after opening our Christmas Pajamas.

 Christmas morning...

Grant gave all 3 girls a new knit hat. He was so excited to give it to them. They look pretty cute with them on!
Grant surprised Katie with her new Blendtec blender. Funny when you get married your wants change. You now what kitchen appliances!
Grant purchased a picture on wood and I order the same picture on a plaque. The same size and same picture. We must think a like.

Christmas fell on Sunday this year! Katie and Grant spent the night and we all went to church together for 1 hour. Then we came home and the highlight of the day happened! We were able to skype our missionary ~ Elder Coon! This was his last Christmas skyping. We have Mother's day left and then he will be home!

60 minutes skyping Elder Coon went way to fast! He was very talkative and focused on the work. He has grown so much over the last year and a half. It will be so amazing when he comes home and we can all be together again! But until then I am going to enjoy every letter, every week!
7 months left... comes home August 2, 2017!
