Happy Birthday to my Katie - 23 years old!

It is really hard to believe that my first sweet baby is 23 years old. Katie is a gift! She is so kind and loving.  I love that she is the connector in our family. She was working in Colorado with her husband this summer and she called the girls to see how their first day of school went. I was a selfish sister after I got married. I was in la-la land and didn't think about what my sister was doing in school, going to prom... etc.
Katie married to best! Grant is so wonderful to her & to his new little sisters. He doesn't have sisters - only 5 brothers. Girls are all new to him, but he is doing awesome in a family of girls.
I love Katie with my whole heart. I love the women she has become. I love the depth and testimony she has of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. She is an amazing daughter/friend. Doesn't she just look like an angel in the picture. Kinda glowy....
We all flew to Utah for my nieces wedding in the Payson Temple. Rachael got married on Katie's birthday... August 5th. We had not spent a birthday together for 3 years. Because of missions and working in Texas. So we didn't want to miss this one. Unfortunately, we still didn't have birthday cake. But we did take her shopping and spent the whole weekend together.
 BYU creamery is a must!
Sunday morning we went to the "Spoken Word" in the conference center. Then we went to sacrament meeting in the Joseph Smith Memorial Building. That was a great Sabbath. There were 6 members of the quorum of the 70's at that meeting. The testimonies shared were strong about our Savior.

Annie is having another party!

This girl likes to through a party...
she misses her friends from Jr. High
so we had them over to play on a Friday night!
Hannah only wants her cousin Gloria..

First day of school

Hannah is in 4th grade this year. She has grown so much and is such a pretty girl. Big year for Hannah she is starting the violin at school. I started the violin in 4th grade too. She loves to play soccer and tried out and made the arsenal team. At recess she is in the the boys and playing soccer. They respect Hannah and her athletic skills. She is very busy this year with piano, the violin, soccer and activity days.

 HUGE year for Annie...
She is a freshman! First year in high school!
First year in Seminary!
All her friends went to WF high school and she is going to Higley.
She is going to be making new friends. Annie has a talent with being happy and fun.
She is wanting to play tennis this year and run track. Both sports are in the spring. She joined the Best Buddies club at school. She is excited to meet her "special needs" friend!
Annie is also wearing contacts this year! Looking beautiful and all grown up! She has grown so much this last year. She is taller than me. Which is huge... considering she has always been so little.
BEAUTIFUL ANNIE!

My only two left in school....

Annie got her Patriarchal blessing

The Sunday before school started Annie got her Patriarchal blessing. Annie is an amazing young woman with a solid testimony and desire to keep the commandments. She is such a peace maker and a bundle of fun! What a blessing she is to our family. July 25, 2016 we went to the Patriarch's home to receive her blessing. The spirit was so beautiful. Brother.... sat us down and talked to us for a few minutes. He asked Annie what she has done to prepare for this day.  She said, she had read about Patriarchal Blessing from President Monson's talk, worked on her personal progress goals, read her scriptures everyday and prayed for the spirit to direct. What she forgot to say was that she had come fasting also. Her blessing was so sweet and perfect for her! He had her blessing ready the very next day! Talk about a fast turn around!

Because school was the next day we invited Grandpa Coon over for dinner and to help give the girls their father's blessings. Well, actually all 5 of us got blessings this night! I love the priesthood!

Broadway kids summer camp 2016

Another fun week of Broadway kids summer camp. We are hoping next year the her cousin Gloria will be able to do it with Hannah.

Hannah had lots of dancing parts and a speaking part!
After the performance we went to Freddy's for a treat..
Lauren and hannah have been doing Broadway kids together for 3 years!
Here is the 50's dance. Hannah is in the front row in the light pick poodle skirt.
She had to dance with a boy and hold his hand. Which she didn't like at all!

The first Dayley Reunion

The Dayley's had their first family reunion... ever!
We went to Northern Arizona to Hannigans Meadow.
Each family had their own cabin. Grant had to work because we had been gone the week before so he drove up on Friday afternoon. The girls and I drove up with my parents in their truck.

The week was filled with reading, hiking, playing cards, visiting the wolf dogs in the cage behind to lobby. But mostly we played card games. At night we played Bean Boozle. It was a hilarious game where you spin the spinner. If you land on the white jelly bean you pick a white bean. It could be buttered popcorn or stinky cheese. You don't know until you eat the jelly bean.
Mostly everyone ate the gross bean: stinky cheese, BARF, ear wax, stinky socks, grass clippings, sour milk, boogers!  I think Grandma had 8 turns and never once got a good flavor.
The good flavors were: buttered popcorn, peach, lime, coconut.

There is the left right stick game again.

 Hannah won her big cousins!

We went on walks and picked wild flowers. The girls decorated there hair.

Finally Dad came up. While in the mountains we did not have cell phone service. You could text if you were next to the lobby. We were happy to see him!

I know I am an outdoor whimp! The whole week I didn't want to go to bed at night. The cabin was built on top of the mouses house. So at night they liked to come inside and visit the people in the cabin. I was scared to death! I didn't sleep and had my phone flashlight on all night looking for them. while sitting on my bed having a panic attack. They were coming in and out of the bedroom under the door. The second night Annie and I shoved a couple of towels under the door to try and keep them out of our room! They could play in the cabin all they wanted just stay out of our room! The next morning I went to the front office to talk to the manager to see what could be done. He was very nice and told me we are in the mountains. We are where the field mice live. I have some advice, "Why don't you give them a name and make them your friend." I smiled and laughed but didn't feel very comforted with that idea. Friday night Grant came up he was exhausted and went to be before us. I would not let the girls sleep in the front room because I wanted them close to me. So Annie took the hide away bed, Grant, Hannah and I share the queen bed. I was stuck in the middle and had the worse night sleep without a pillow. Because I let Grant sleep on mine. I kept sitting up looking for the mice. Finally Grant had enough. He said, "What are you looking for? would you go to sleep! The mice are not going to get you!" Morning could not come fast enough!!!!

Saturday morning we packed our bags and drove to the Sunrise ski resort in Northern Utah.
They have turned it into some summer fun activities. This was the 3 story jump you jump off into the blow up pillow below. Hannah was the first one to jump off!  Annie jumped off the 2nd story and landed feet first. She did the 2nd story jump again because you have to land on your bottom/backside. After passing the second level she climbed to the 3rd floor. It was so high especially from up there looking down. Annie jumped... but half way down she got scared and landed on her feet. Which knocked the wind out of her and bruised her neck, ribs and back. She was hurt but didn't want attention drawn to herself. It made me feel badly.

Lee's family, Jen's family and my family all went. We rode to ski lift to the top of the mountain and ate lunch. They had indian fry bread with honey and powder sugar and a navajo taco. They were tastee! Mom and Dad stayed at the cabin to read and write poetry. Which I thought was strange they didn't want to come be with their kids.  We had a great day playing on the mountain. I mostly took videos not pictures!
